Ideas on How to Design a Beautiful Laundry Room

3 minute read, by Closet America, on Aug 24, 2023

Most people overlook their laundry rooms when setting up or designing their homes. While it might not be an immediate priority, transforming your laundry room into a beautifully organized space should be something you’ll want to accomplish. Proper organization can improve the ambiance in the room so it’s a haven of cleanliness in your home.

Whether designing a new laundry room or renovating an existing one, there’s much to consider regarding location, layout, appliances, materials, design and organization. Understanding how to design a laundry room is critical if you want your area to be functional and aesthetically beautiful.

Laundry rooms are becoming increasingly frequent in our homes, especially in little ones. One can be added to any home with a spare room, and constructing one is beneficial. The benefit of remodeling your laundry room is that you may incorporate your storage and organization requirements into the design.

Use the Space Wisely

Often, homeowners have little influence over the installation location of their large appliances. Even so, you can still personalize the area around your washing machine. That’s why full use of your space is essential in the laundry room.

You may maximize your available space by customizing your cabinets and storage. Consider installing custom shelving and drawers to make a place for laundry detergent, fabric softener and other laundry necessities.

Install a countertop over the washer and dryer for the extra folding area that won’t take up as much space as a full table, or add a bar for hanging clothing! If there is enough space, an ironing board, an open cupboard with hanging space and shelves for freshly laundered garments are all quite handy.

Iron Your Clothes with Ease

Do you separate your laundry sorting, folding and ironing? It’s a good idea to start organizing your laundry to make ironing easier. It would be convenient to place your ironing board near a countertop. If you don’t have an ironing board, choose a countertop near an electrical outlet to complete the task.

A built-in ironing board helps save space and ironing easier. All you need do to is pull the board out of it’s hiding place & plug the iron in. This hidden ironing center could include an additional light to illuminate your work surface and be placed near an electrical outlet for the iron.

Create an Area for Folding

Laundry rooms are frequently jammed into narrow rooms or hallways where you must walk outside the space to fold your clothing. As a result, we often encounter laundry facilities with little or no counter space. So, where are all those garments meant to be folded?

You may, however, increase space inside closets and dresser drawers by using a few ingenious folding techniques that keep goods tidy and easily accessible. Furthermore, careful folding prevents wrinkled clothing, allowing you to spend less time ironing and steaming.
