Local closet company provides custom closets for two home builds in Virginia.
LANHAM, MARYLAND, NOVEMBER 04, 2015
D.C. metropolitan area home organization company Closet America is contributing to two home builds with Homes for Our Troops, a national 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization that builds mortgage-free, specially adapted homes nationwide for severely injured Veterans Post-9/11 to enable them to rebuild their lives.
Closet America will contribute custom closets to homes for Army Sergeant Steven Curry and Marine Corporal Marcus Dandrea. Both home builds are located in Virginia (http://www.hfotusa.org/va), and are currently underway.
The company’s local roots fuel its desire to give back to the community, says Closet America President Skip LaBella.
“Closet America prides itself on being an active member in the local community,” said LaBella. “We were eager to join forces with Homes for Our Troops to provide Veterans with new homes. These Veterans are inspirations to us and we’re honored to give back.”
This isn’t the first time Closet America has partnered with a local organization either; the closet organizers are known around the community for their role in community service.

About Homes for Our Troops
Homes for Our Troops (HFOT) is a privately funded 501(c) (3) nonprofit organization that builds specially adapted, mortgage-free homes nationwide for the most severely injured Veterans from Iraq and Afghanistan. Most of these Veterans have sustained life-altering injuries including multiple limb amputations, partial or full paralysis, and/or severe traumatic brain injury (TBI). These homes restore some of the freedom and independence our Veterans sacrificed while defending our country, and enable them to focus on their family, recovery, and rebuilding their lives. Since its founding in 2004, nearly 90 cents of every dollar donated to HFOT has gone directly to our program services for Veterans. HFOT builds the homes where the Veteran chooses to live, and continues its relationship after home delivery is finished to assist them with rebuilding their lives. HFOT has built over 190 specially adapted homes nationwide since 2004.
