Frequently Asked Questions
Yes, but with a caveat. Your storage system was built or will be built for your current space, with all of its nuances and dimensions in mind. Experience has shown us that, while we can repurpose some components of built systems, the challenge of making an existing system work in a new space can be more time-consuming and costly than you might expect.
Luckily, our beautiful custom storage systems increase the appeal of homes for sale, and all Closet America systems come standard with our exclusive transferrable lifetime warranty.
To see Closet America systems before you buy, schedule a free design consultation. While our designers naturally cannot carry a complete system with them, they do bring a kit that includes our materials such as wood and hardware.
You can also visit our showroom in Landover, MD to see a life-size mud room, pantry, walk-in closet, Murphy bed and home office complete with Closet America custom storage systems.
We offer a wide range of features and accessories for our closet, garage and pantry storage systems. Explore the beautiful details:
For our custom shelving and cabinetry, we use ¾-inch thermofused melamine. This thick finish provides strength and durability, so shelves don’t sag and last longer.
We use thick 3-millimeter beveled edge banding that is fused – not glued – to the shelving for greater strength and durability. Unlike our competitors, we use polypropylene for its environmentally conscious advantages over PVC.
Our fully-framed drawer boxes are made from 5/8-inch thick birch and feature dovetail construction. The drawer box is finished with rounded, bullnose construction. The front and back are offset from the sides for a flush, tight fit.
To ensure top quality and consistent world-class service, everyone involved in the design, production and installation of your system is a Closet America employee. We do not sub-contract out any of our work.
Organization systems are heavy to begin with, and once they are loaded with items they become even heavier. When a heavy system is hung on the wall instead of mounted on the floor, it becomes much less stable and can collapse under the weight. We engineer our systems to stand on the floor for stability and durability.
We sure are! All of our systems are engineered and built in our production facility in Landover, Maryland. We offer speedy delivery and installation to the entire DC/MD/VA region and are just around the corner if you ever need service.
