Twenty Year Old Closet in Ellicott City Gets a Makeover
2 minute read, by Closet America, on Jul 1, 2011
For 20 years, Jane and Robert were fortunate to have a large walk-in closet in the master bedroom of their Ellicott City, Maryland, home. While they enjoyed the large space to keep all of their clothes, shoes and accessories, they never felt like anything was organized or easy to store and find.
That’s when they decided to make a change. They were interested in a custom-designed closet organization system but had some concerns. They wanted to be sure that the system was sturdy but at the same time wouldn’t damage the walls of their closet. They were also very specific about what they wanted out of the new system. Jane said, “We wanted shelving that would allow my husband’s sweaters to be stored at a good height and to have areas where shoes, accessories and next year’s Christmas gifts could also be stored at a reasonable height for easy viewing and access.”
Jane and Robert did their homework by researching on the internet for companies that offer closet organization systems. They ultimately decided to schedule an appointment with Closet America, and met with designer Robert Marshall.
Robert met with the homeowners in their home, listened to their needs and wants, and designed a layout that would allow them to improve the organization of their walk-in closet. Closet America designers use the latest in 3-D computer-assisted design technology to design the perfect custom closet for Jane and Robert.
They were impressed with the quality of the components used to build a Closet America storage system, including thicker 3mm edge banding providing soft edges that don’t snag, soft close drawers, integrated leg levelers that remove weight from the wall and evenly distribute the system weight to the floor and the wall, seamless metal rods, and stronger shelf supports. All of this attention to quality is what enables Closet America not only to guarantee their products but offer customers a double lifetime guarantee.
Jane and Robert couldn’t be more pleased with the layout that Robert designed and the quality of the finished product. Jane commented that their new organizing system “was made specifically for our closet, a custom look that can easily be adapted as new needs arise. We love how the shelving heights can be adjusted with little bother.” And their new closet certainly keeps them organized. “Now we can keep a beautiful closet,” Jane remarked, “that doesn’t have that messy look. For the first time in 20 years, we can actually vacuum our closet floor without moving items around.” They are also thrilled with how the final layout streamlines the efficiency of the space. “We can see all the clothes we have and can easily keep them organized, which makes for efficient dressing in the morning.”
Jane and Robert were pleased with the one-day installation that was completed “without any mess, noise or complications.” In the end, they praised everyone at Closet America, from the designer to the project manager to the installer. “Thank you Closet America for your excellent communication, efficiency and workmanship!”
